Best accessory for motorcycle riders! If you have several helmets but only want one device to listen to music as well as block out wind noise, this is the best option. Battery lasts forever and the sound quality is excellent. If you ride a motorcycle, you need this!
4.0 out of 5 stars They’re pretty good
I wear these for work. I use the pugs that came already attached. And they only last two days. Then I used the other pair. They are a little small. But as long as you insert these properly they work well. I work in an extremely loud factory.
5.0 out of 5 stars So far, they're great!
I read several bad reviews on these but I have had zero problems with them. It's nice being able to listen to things while I'm working, and no one seems to know the difference between these and the disposable plugs! I'd say they are worth the money. Sounds quality is as good as some name brand earbuds I've used. Just make sure the speaker is well inserted in the earplug body and they're great.
I use these plugged into my Sena 10S Bluetooth intercom on my motorcycle helmet. They give me hearing protection and much better audio than the Sena speakers. I've worn them for 6 hrs of riding and they were still comfortable
Even a Harley with stock pipes is noisy enough to render real high quality sound pointless. But, the sound quality combined with the noise cancellation of plugphones definitely yields a good enough listening experience to improve the pleasure of riding out on the open roads of the High Plains. Make sure it is legal in your state if you are planning to be motoring with these in your ears. You can certainly hear sirens through those noise reduction phones, but you may not be able to convince Johnny Law or The Man of that.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great responsiveness when my first set had an issue
4.5 stars: After 1 month, one side starting cutting out after 10-60min of use. No amount of manipulation of the plug or wiring affects the issue. After 20min unplugged, they start working but would cut out again after a time. Until this started happening I really loved them for noise reduction, comfort, and clear audio in the noisy conditions I use them in. For the price, they fully met my expectations. The manufacturer's website has a clear 180day warranty policy so I submitted the replacement request form provided. I'll update the review once I determine their resolution. Update: the manufacturer responded a couple days after submitting my replacement request. They asked me to fill out form and email pics of the form along with my plugfones. They immediately responded saying a replacement was shipped - which I received about 4 days later. Very happy with the responsiveness. I'll report back if the new ones have any issues.
I wear these Bluetooth plugfones at work and the sound quality is great! I work 12 hours around noisy machinery and the noise cancelation is magnificent! The battery life is insane. I only charge when I get off and use the plugfones my entire shift. I have recommended these to my entire shift and a couple of people bought and love them too.
4.0 out of 5 stars Look like earplugs, sound like earbuds, delivers whats promised.
I got these for low profile listening at work where plugs are required and buds are not allowed on the floor. So far so good. No one has noticed or said anything. If this is the use case you are looking for, these will probably work. You should know that 1. There is a yoke where the left and right "cords" join. This looks like what it is and would be obvious to anyone looking for shenanigans. 2. The cord is much much longer than any earplug cords ive ever seen. So as long as you can keep that from being seen, bobs your uncle. As to the sound quality, gotta say its really not bad. I have a pair of basic skullcandy buds that sound about the same and cost similar. So the price is about right for the sound quality. The bonus with these is that they retain a Noise Reduction Rating, which basically functions as noise cancellation, just passive and not active. Its pretty good about as good as the work supplied earplugs. Cant really complain for the most part. The build quality does feel about like it should for sub $20 earbuds. That is to say that its not top notch material, and its not gonna be a product sith a life span in years if its used regularly. At the price if i have to buy them 2 or three times a year because im rough on them, then to be able to have something to listen to 12 hrs a day, thats worth the price. This is one of their basic sets, they have higher quality ones with better build for a higher price but they dont really qualify as low profile as much as these do. Comfort, They are really comfortable. I work 12 hrs wearing them and they dont really bother my ears much. They are really soft. Theres a tendency to try to screw them in or twist them when inserting, I reccomend against this, it will drive them in but they tend to work their way back out some when you do it, which reduces the ear protection they offer. I dont want to damage my hearing, i just want music or talk during my otherwise overhelmingly noisy and boring day. They will pull out pretty easy if snagged or tugged on, so keep cord management in mind. Great purchase for the reason i got them. I turn the volume down really low, still hear about as much as i could with regular earplugs in and still have ear protection. Ticks all the boxes.
I got these minutes before I went on a ride and decided I'd have to love em or hate em for two hours. Packaging is easy open and they have a wire tie holding them together. Putting them in is easy, especially because I have some 3m silicone plugs myself. These are actually easier to get in and out. I haven't tried the foamy yet. Over all the comfort is an 8 of 10 (flanges). I can tell they're in, and maybe one wasn't seated well, so it gave me the slightest inclination that it may be digging in, but it never did, and I had no stinging sensation upon removing them characteristic of the flanges digging in. I would wear these everyday without worry about comfort. . The helmet didn't affect the plugs at all. The sound is surprisingly excellent. 7 of 10. It's not Bose Quietcomfort 20i but I could hear my music and every note and lyric, no matter my speed or wind, and it was blustery on my ride. I listen to a lot of EDM and even the bass delivery was respectable for being plugs. I ride a liter bike with stock exhaust and a full helmet I will definitely purchase some replacement flanges or foamies once I try both and decide, but I love these things. Short of a 200 dollar pair of earplugs, these will work just fine. UPDATE: After a couple months I've decided I really like the foamy plugs better (10 of 10 comfort). They seal better and are extremely comfortable. The digging I was scared of ended up being just that. A bit of digging in the left ear. Not a huge deal, but enough that I decided to only reorder foamies. (probably more my ear shape than a universal issue.) I keep the flanges though, as back up. The foamies last a while, too. I'm running this first set ragged waiting on the replacements, but they still seat and stay without any issue. I really can't stress that for what you pay and what they do, the sound on these is really good. I wont ride without these at this point, even without music playing. They are excellent at just dulling the wind and engine noise and make the ride down right quiet and relaxing.
5.0 out of 5 stars They last a work day
I love that they have two pairs but one pair will last a 12 hour work day.
4.0 out of 5 stars Motorcycle ear protection!
I picked these up since they came heavily recommended from a biker group on discord. My handlebar speakers finally crapped out on me after a good 7 years, so I was in the position of either buying new speakers or was also looking into in helmet audio options. Now, at the same time, I've noticed a degradation in my overall hearing when it comes to hearing people speak in loud places. It was concerning to me, so the idea of ear plugs for hearing protection also started to hit me. After trying some of the other ear plugs like high fidelity plugs from Etymotic, and 3m foamies, and airpod pros. I thought wow the ear protection from road and wind noise on the motorcycle is great, but I need some tunes back in my ride. I've now had these headphones for about a month of daily commuting and here are my thoughts. Pros: - the foam tips to a really good job at noise reduction. I'd say the claimed 30db is accurate enough if you get them in your ears properly. - tunes are completely audible at a lower end volume up to about 45mph, over that and you can bump it up until you slow down again. I am not commuting on highways at top speeds, so can't comment on that, but they seem to get pretty loud. - the buttons are easily found around the neck while riding. - battery seems good enough, have only charged it once when I opened it. I ride about 3 days a week, about 20-40 minute commutes. - These easily stay in place while wearing either a full face or a half helmet - can easily be worn for ear protection without using the speakers for when you want to eliminate the road noise but don't need music. Cons: - they can get a little uncomfortable after about 30 minutes. - I think the headphone itself could be a little larger. to get these properly seated in the ears, you need to really push them in there, so it doesn't leave much left to grab before your fingers are essentially putting pressure on the wire. I do think this will be the ultimate weak point of these headphones over time, but so far so good. -price isn't bad compared to in helmet audio solutions or handlebar speakers. (if you go helmet audio, remember that you'll probably need to upgrade your helmet as well) - They default to middle/upper volume when you turn them on so if you are not prepared, it might be considered a bit loud. I need to adjust the volume down every time I turn them on. - I'm sure any true audiophile would not find these satisfactory, but for me they sound great. I listen to a wide range of music from heavy metal to drum and bass. I enjoy great sounding audio. So for what these offer at this price point, WITH ear protection, WHILE riding a motorcycle is actually pretty decent IMO. Overall, I'm satisfied, and will see how well they hold up over time.
As a carpenter I use power tools all day but also like music. These plugs are comfortable and powers through an 8 hour workday. For the noisier tools you can push them a little tighter in your ear to block more sound. They are comfortable for all day, just wipe them down with alcohol everyday. The sound is not great if you are used to more bass, but you get used to it. Adjust your smart phone equalizer to boost the bass a little.
4.0 out of 5 stars These are better than skull candy which do not block out as ...
Works as expected. I wear them when I ride my motorcycle. At highway speeds really can't hear music very well, though. These are better than skull candy which do not block out as much noise and do not stay in my ears as well as the plugfones while wearing my helmet on the bike. Sound quality is only so-so but adequate with iPhone set to small speakers. With gloves on the buttons on the controller are not that easy to activate. Would like left and right indicators on the earpieces.
Ordered a second pair the next day, ordered this and the sena headphonea adapters for my full face motorcycle helmet. I previously purchased nonoise ear plugs and they worked well with my sena's for music, but my wife and I couldn't hear each other with intercoms, so I ordered the adapter and a set of these, for our purpose this was perfect. I use the ribbed silicone and am very satisfied. Downside is they really block all noise, you cannot hear outside voices as you would with HiFi earplugs, I haven't tried enabling sidetone, which might satisfy this 'need'
Love these for any situation. Yard work, Shop work, relaxing. They dont fall out, durable, light weight.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good for podcasts or audio books
I use these at work to listen to podcasts and audio books but if your plan is to listen to music, I would not recommend these. The bass is just not there. The battery life is pretty good. I've been using these for several months now and I get 10hrs of listen time at about 70-75% volume no problem.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good for motorcycle
I got this so I can listen to music when I ride, At 80 MPH it cut's out a lot of wind noise and I can hear the music with out turning it up. It's a very basic system but it works well.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works exactly as expected
I use this on a motorcycle and its great. Even at highway speeds, I can hear the podcasts on my phone at half volume. This also blocks out sound better than the concert ear buds I used previously. 5/5 highly recommend
4.0 out of 5 stars Awesome but expensive
These work great. Boss can't tell I'm jamming out. They sound good and get plenty loud enough for me. 5 star product but giving it 4 stars simply because I feel they're priced too high. $30 is expensive for simple ear plugs imo. Otherwise great purchase and would definitely recommend.
These are awesome. If you have a job that requires you to wear ear plugs but you want to listen to music or whatever. This is it. After 6 months in a brutal environment they still work great. The sound quality is not horrible. It lacks bass mostly. Otherwise it's loud enough to hear over loud machines. The battery life is absolutely incredible. Everyday I get 10 straight hours from a charge. If your looking for sound quality then go buy a $200 Bose or Sony headset. If your trying to enjoy yourself while following rules at work then this is it. Highly recommend.
4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent
These are great wired ear buds. Only thing be nice heavier wire to the buds. Good clear sound. Look just like ear plugs.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great noise reduction, okay sound quality
Works great to reduce noise. However the sound quality is rather poor. You also really need to crank up the volume to hear anything around noisy or loud equipment.
5.0 out of 5 stars My husband's favorite
Husband works in a factory and uses these daily! It's been a year now and they still work great 👍
5.0 out of 5 stars Very discreet.
For work in a factory environment where headphones are verboten, these things are a no brainier. With the battery and control units tucked under your shirt collar they are indistinguishable from ordinary ear plugs. Sound quality seems a little on the treble-y side, but this is the compromise you pay for being naughty, and really doesn’t matter if you are using them for podcasts or audible books. Also I haven’t tested these in anger for any length of time, so can’t speak to battery life or robustness. If you find your mind being turned to mush in a factory rat on a wheel type situation, these plugfones are an absolute game changer, making mind numbing monotonous tasks more bearable. Stick it to the man! Get some!
4.0 out of 5 stars Does what's intended.
I was sceptic of these headphones when I first purchased them. After using them all day for a few days I feel that it is an okay time to write a review. The headphones work as intended. It is a noise cancelation ear bud combo. Most people looking at these probably work somewhere hearing protection is required/recommended and music isn't. This set of ear phones works for that. They are incognito and look just like normal ear plugs, but they play music. I have walked around the floor with these non stop and nobody batted an eye. So as far as that goes A+. The noise cancelation is more than adequate. I have machines running close to 100 db. I need to hear when it stops but also don't want my ear drums to explode. They get an A for that as well. Won't completely isolate noise but do good. When music is playing at around half way almost all noise is gone. For this reason I usually keep them pretty low, in case someone needs to get my attention or I need to tend to the machine. If I turn the volume all the way up on them I probably wouldn't be able to hear a jackhammer 3 feet from me. With that being said you aren't going to have beats quality as far as the sound. They are equivalent to a 20$ pair of headphones. Not too bad but nothing great, but I wasn't looking for supreme sound when I bought them, I was looking for something that cut down the noise and allowed me to listen to music inconspicuously. If this describes your situation you are in luck. Also I have purchased multiple corded headphones from the same company. I liked the concept and was on my way to write a review about wishing there was a bluetooth option when I found this. Trust me, it is worth the extra 25 dollars to upgrade to these. Final pro to this set of ear buds, they have a counterweight on the other end. I wasn't sure what it was for initially but after wearing them a bit I realized what it was. I have used bluetooth head phones before and the biggest issue is that the mic/charging portion always weighs down the other end. The counterweight prevents this and a great thought on the manufacturer's end. A If these last 3 months they are worth it in my eyes. Anything more is a win.
4.0 out of 5 stars Didn't work out of the bag.
I have used these for years and they usually work for at least 6 to 9 months before they stop working. The most recent pair I purchased didnt work right out of the package. One ear had no sound, and the other popped in and out with normal and quiet sound. I like this product, but seeming that they are made for construction personnel they should be a little bit more rigid.
So I owned a pair of plugfones prior to them updating this newer model and fell in love with them. However, their previous model didn't have the durability I was hoping for. I work in a factory setting with hard hats and earplugs are required. These nifty plugfones gave me the ear protection while still being able to listen to my tunes, whoever created these are genius! They look just like the ones at my work so don't draw much attention, and this newer version lets you choose wether you want the foam or silicone base. They seemed to hold up much better than the previous ones as my can be somewhat rough on these (I've dropped my hat with these attached many times). Pretty impressed with this product and have recommended to several coworkers.
4.0 out of 5 stars get treks instead
Dont waste your money buy some treks they are way better last longer and more durable plus u can get a base pair for about 80$ MY PLUG PHONES SUCKED BUT I BOUGHT 3 pair of treks my self in 5 years my wife a pair and her mother and all of them still work today
I bought my pkugfones liberate for use on a motorcycle. I have a $600 helmet with a $300 Bluetooth system but I had to have the volume up too high. With the plugfones I can get more sound with less decibels blasting thru my ears. Plus the bass and overall quality is better than my Sena Bluetooth and AirPod Pro. These are definitely worth the $$.
5.0 out of 5 stars Work good, battery lasts great
These are great for work. Noise suppression is good and the sound is decent, the noise cancelation isn't as good as advertised according to people I've talked to while using them earbuds.
I work in construction as a Pipefitter/Plumber. I work around Sheetrockers and Sheetmetal workers. It's so loud sometimes it makes me want wish I had an office job...*cringe*...then I remember these little beauties are hanging around my neck just waiting for me to put them to work too. Noise cancelling; check. Music; check. Calls; check. I've had several expensive string-type ear buds that have fallen off and gotten destroyed within days of me buying them...then I found these babies. Thank you Amazon for bringing these into my life!!!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great combination of sound and ear protection.
The sound quality is much better than I anticipated. Also, I was afraid that these wouldn’t stay in well since I have very small ear holes, but these stay put wonderfully!
5.0 out of 5 stars Good headphone earplug
Keeps sound muted cheaply, looks like earplugs so i could wear them at work, pretty durable i went through like a pair ever 6+ months putting them in my pocket every day after i wore them for my 12 hour shifts. Eventually the wire would break and one of the headphones would die. They would get earwax and pocket lint on them, pretty much everything sticks to these theyre very soft, so i would wash them with soap and water at the begining of every shift. Yea for the application, these were perfect.
4.0 out of 5 stars It's in my ear
the noise reduction was very good, the fit was good and the sound was also very good, buy after about 3 or 4 applications when I tried to remove them the right ear foam piece stayed in my ear and had to be removed by someone else because I couldn't get a grip on it. They should have lasted longer than that.
4.0 out of 5 stars Lasted 346 days - But Performed EXACTLY As Neexed!
Lasted me exactly 346 days. After about 9 months one side started cutting in and out, I was okay with that. But less then a full year into its purchase the whole headset ha seized to play any sound. I'll be ordering ankther pair hoping that this second pair will last longer.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good for work!
These are great for my workplace. The silicone tips are changeable and washable, fit even my small ear canals with reasonable comfort, and look like standard issue ear plugs. I don't have a particularly aggressive work routine, and mine are still like new even after hours of wear and tear. I drop the cord down my shirt in the back and tuck it around my side, plugged into a Bluetooth receiver (Jumbl) and that's hidden under my clothes. The sound quality is not as good as some higher end earbuds or even my Bluetooth ear muffs, but they beat the sound of my own thoughts in my head and the dull hisses and noises of machinery. I will say that the bass is pretty good for those who like that. I listen largely to documentaries and some of the more quiet speech occasionally gets lost, but I don't think that's any fault of the ear plugs. My only real complaint is the jack is not reinforced/angled like on the purple 1.0 style. I just know I am going to rip the wiring asunder eventually. I'd also personally like to see 'small' size foam or better yet silicone tips for us with tiny ear canals. Standards fit well enough for me, but others might not be so lucky.
5.0 out of 5 stars Sooooooooo nice!
I use these as ear plugs for noise reduction and as ear buds. They seal out a lot of noise as well as push the music/voice directly into my hear. Since I suffer hearing loss from years of industrial noise these make it possible to use my SENA Bluetooth headset to communicate with my girlfriend when we ride. BTW, i wear a half-helmet and I purchased an extra pair to have on hand.
5.0 out of 5 stars Cheap and works!
Best Buy for the money hands down. Use these for mowing on the tractor. I’ve tried head phones but with sun glasses and a hat it just don’t work, not to mention my ears melt from the heat and sweat. They work just as good as a set of 400.00 head phones without the side effects. If a tree branch rips them off and you ruin them - no biggie! For 20 bucks get another pair! You’ll cry for a week doin that to a set of Bose!
4.0 out of 5 stars Works great in loud places
Awesome product I work in manufacturing and can hear Awesome and still blocks out noise from my job can still hear someone if they need to talk to me do need to have your phone with you because if you get to far away it will break up
I love these things, our shop doesn't allow music of any kind, i have been using these for quite some time with great success. The sound quality is really good if you are using the foam earplugs, you lose a lot of bass if you use the rubber ones, but they stay cleaner and are easier to use. The foam pads don't compact very well for insertion due to the hole down the center and can be a challenge to get in some times. I only give them 4 stars instead of 5 because the cord is too short based on the nature of how these are used. Since you have to hide the cord, it would be nice if i could run the cord down my back under my shirt then tuck it into my front pocket with my mp3 player. So i either have to buy an extension cord, or wear a undershirt with a pocket which adds a slight detection risk if your over-shirt is a thin material. It would be nice if the cord was a foot longer.
4.0 out of 5 stars Worked great
Worked great right out of the box as they were already charged recharge them for work later that night, they worked great was able to get almost 8 hours of listening to music out of them before the battery died box says up to 10hrs so will see but overall so far great product I do know others with the same product that have an experienced any issues
If you're thinking of buying, LOOK AT ALL THE PICS! It has a very obvious mic that hangs down right at your mouth. I got these because they are similar to the earplugs provided at work and, were it not for the microphone, they would be perfect.
4.0 out of 5 stars Mic never works for meetings on laptop.
Im not even sure if there is a mic. During meetings on my laptop they can only hear me when Im near the laptop and not when I step away- this is crippling during troubleshooting experiences with OEM support techs and you need to step away from a charging laptop to check a device and report whats happening without walking all the way back to the laptop. The range is very impressive for the bluetooth signal I will agree. Thats the only issue Ive had for these over the year I have had them. Just now considering alternatives for meeting purposes.
4.0 out of 5 stars Just as advertised!!
My husband uses these at work. He works in a factory and loves having these in everyday while he's working.. His bosses just think that he's wearing protective ear gear, They don't even know that these are actually headphones as well as the ear gear that is required!!!
4.0 out of 5 stars Good product but has a flaw
They definitely block out the outside noise, sound of music is great through them. Only downside is after a couple months of use one side or the other cuts out. Still block out noise but you get no music sound. Have bought 4 pairs now 3 of the 4 this has happened to the 4th ones I haven’t used yet. This happens to other coworkers as well. These definitely don’t last a long time but do work good for the price
5.0 out of 5 stars Best Wireless Earbuds for the Cost
PROS: Build quality, sound quality, comfort, battery life, ease of use, price. CONS: None OPPORTUNITIES: An app to manage the device with battery-remaining info, sound/equalizer settings, etc. would be a nice addition.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great noise canceling and sound quality.
The sound quality is great even in high noise areas. They are comfortable for long wear times and the battery life is great at about 12 hours after being properly charged.
5.0 out of 5 stars Buenos
Espero que me dure la carga la verdad se conectan súper fácil y tienen buena calidad 🤩
Very surprised! They sound great, definitely for the price. Don't expect deep base, but there is some. Very clear and cancels out the noise around you. Low tech that is above a lot of the high tech and costly devices out there. Will update after my next roadtrip on the Harley. Pretty sure I will have good results there too.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great piece of gear!
Everything about these are great! I use these on my motorcycle to listen to GPS directions and they work great! A steal at the price!
5.0 out of 5 stars I waited my whole life...
What's not to like? They are exactly like the earplugs people wear at my job. They keep outside noise out! Which is a good thing if your job is loud and you can rock out while your working. Dying laughing the whole time. Just dont tell anyone... It's your secret If you are looking for like super bad ass sound quality they are a 20 $pair of headphones it's awesome they play music ... be cool if they made an upgraded version for it ... I'd pay more but then again they are for work and I will probably just break em. These have lasted all summer. And I work a really intense job so... two thumbs up
4.0 out of 5 stars Satisfied so far
They are comfortable and work very well the only complaint I would have is that my red pair only charges up to 90% so on the days I start with those is usually the only day that the same pair won't last the whole 10 hour shift
I am writing this review 6 months after initially buying them June 6th 2017: Good sound quality, has great clean bass and low-end. I ride a fairly loud cruiser-style motorcycle. They block sound very well, even without music playing they greatly reduce the wind noise at high speeds. They even stay snug in my ears on the highway, and fit comfortably in my full faced helmet. A couple of weeks ago, the left earbud started to cut out and now does not work at all. HOWEVER-- I was very rough on them. They whipped around in the wind everyday commuting to work on my bike, had cord jerked out of jack by catching it with my arm or dropping phone, were carelessly thrown into pockets and backpacks where they got tangled all the time, and even got washed and dried in the laundry last fall. So you pretty much just get what you pay for, only $25 and they last 6 months to maybe a year of very hard daily use. If you take care of your things better or just want something to listen to on the bus or subway, who knows they could last a while.
4.0 out of 5 stars quality sound, not quality built.
I love these earphones. They are definitely an upgrade from the cheaper version. They sound crisp, the bass is just right. They are fantastic, sound quality wise. BUT, I have to buy a pair every 3 months because I use these every single day. I have a hot, sweaty, constant pace job and that somehow causes one the ear phones to short out, and somehow it seems to be right at 3 months. But still, before that third month hits, they are quality sound earphones that will keep you going all day. Also. The silicone buds are fantastic. The foam buds these come with are horrible. You can easily attach them, but trying to remove them without destroying them is impossible for me. The silicone is all I use. They do make the inside of my ears itchy at times, but nothing major.. Just remove the buds (which is simple with the silicone) and clean them. Just be prepared to buy up to 4 pairs a year. ( I'm about to be on my 3rd this year alone because my second pair just died.)
5.0 out of 5 stars ... have an alternative to my 3M WorkTunes which are great until you want to listen to your phone or ...
I bought these hoping to have an alternative to my 3M WorkTunes which are great until you want to listen to your phone or its hot out - seriously who likes ear muffs when its hot. Anyways I have only owned these a week but they have far exceeded my expectations. Thus far I have cut, split and stacked 3 cord of wood while wearing these - I could hear both the chainsaw and the gas powered log splitter but they blocked out the majority of the machine noise and left me to pure Pandora - which sounded better than I expected. After the wood fiasco I spent three days sanding and prepping for stain a wood floor while wearing these - again I could hear the machines but they allowed me to listen to music when it otherwise would have required my ear muffs - I squeezed in a couple of podcasts as well which were audible and understandable over the machine noise. Finally tonight I mowed the grass while wearing these, a welcome relief to cooking my ears in the ear muffs - I was able to enjoy my music over the sounds of my mower which is quite loud. The only improvements I see at this point would be another six inches of cord and some sort of clip to attach to my shirt collar - I managed to rip the out of my ears several times when they were caught on something else. Finally DO NOT BUY the yellow, dirty hands make them look gross.
4.0 out of 5 stars I keep buying them
Great for those whom work in a noisy warehouse environment.... I work 12hr shifts so this is a great way to make it go by... My only issue!!! I seem to always get a short in the wire after the 2 month mark... and in the same area... feeling like an intentionaI flaw; hope not but I do keep buying them “hmm” :/
4.0 out of 5 stars Good for Work.. 😉😉😉
Use them everyday at Work.. Usually last at least 6 months..
4.0 out of 5 stars sound quality fair to good
I'm not allowed to wear buds that stream music. As the buds visibly blink advertising that they are connected I was told to remove them. No use to me if I can't use them at work. Take away the flashing light and I'd buy them again
4.0 out of 5 stars Expected worst hoped for best and was impressed.
I've been using these for about two weeks now. The foam buds didn't really fit but the silicone work masterfully. They're comfortable and even in the steel foundry the noise reduction is amazing. I thought I'd have to turn my phone up to compensate for the noise and was pleasantly surprised. I can actually have my Device turned down further than standard earphones allowing me to listen as well as communicate with and understand my co-workers. Final plus, nobody realizes im even wearing headphones as these mimic the silicone 3M earplugs flawlessly. I would recommend.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great for work
When they're fully charged they last me a full 8+ hour shift and still have a little charge to start the next day. They take about 30-40 minutes to fully charge. They stay in my ears well. My only complaint is how long the wire is connecting both ear buds.
5.0 out of 5 stars Five Stars
Great sound, even the bass kinda suprised me, super comfortable and great while working in a machine shop.
I've ordered my second pair because I wanted to leave a pair at work. I find traditional ear buds very uncomfortable so I love these as an alternative. Good battery life; no issues whatsoever. Highly recommend.
4.0 out of 5 stars More discreet than the expensive version of these but less battery 10 hrs
I like the price compared to the pro version but the comfort isint as good as the high end version that I previously bought .. I own the 120 $ pair and these but the expensive versions more comfy in the ear but the lil battery thing on the side of the expensive ones is more noticable then the PC basic pro version and at work i dont like that, so I bought these because they dont have that and it is alot more discreet but the battery life is shorter (10 hrs ) and you cant replace the ear plug/buds so ya have to clean the yit outta them but also they feel weirder in my ears. I like these but I feel like they should add the feature where you can replace the ear bud part or I'd give a 5 star for the discreet aspect of these... my boss had no idea they weren't ear buds
4.0 out of 5 stars Great for motorcycle use, but durability could be better
I plug these into a Cardo helmet com system instead of the crappy sounding, too quiet helmet speakers, that you can't hear at all if you wear traditional earplugs. These are probably 80 percent as good as foam earplugs and cutting noise, and music/spoken word comes through loud and clear. They stay in place, and being nothing protrudes from your ear but the wire, donning/doffing your helmet doesn't yank them out or cause pain as I found with many other earbuds. However, I've found they're good for about a year. possibly all the helmet on/off stresses the wire, since that's where it seems to break. One bud will start cutting in and out unless the wire is positioned just so. I ride 15-20k a year, and the most recent pair just started having this issue, almost a year on the dot. I had a similar experience with the Liberate Bluetooth version, but those are a lot more expensive to replace. $25 once a year isn't the end of the world, but I'd happily pay a little more for an upgraded/tougher cord.
5.0 out of 5 stars If you have restless nights or insomnia, BUY THESE NOW!!!!
I originally purchased these for the same reasons as most....to listen to music at work without getting caught because the look like earplugs! 😂 But after struggling with insomnia, I've used white noise to help me sleep for years. Needless to say, that also included waking up with sore ears from traditional earbuds. So one night, I decided to try these bad boys out and I have NO complaints at all! The noise reduction is perfect to cancel out hubby's roaring snore and also keeps me from damaging eardrum from having it too loud! Not to mention the oooh soooo comfy design! I ordered a second pair in case these break.....just so I would b able to sleep before waiting on the replacement to come in the mail!
5.0 out of 5 stars If you need to hide that your listening to something, get this.
Works for what it is. It's not a Bose sound system, but if you want to appear to have earplugs in bc you cannot listen to music, ECT., Theses are a sneaky way to make your day fly by and enjoy music or podcasts for work environments that require earplugs.
So Im a welder in a factory, I work 8+ hours a day. I wear these all day everyday. I usually get 6 months out of a pair before one side goes out. If it wasn't for plugfones. I'd probably quit my boring repetitive job a long time ago. The quality gets better with each pair. Now days the audio quality is comparable to skull candy. My first pair sounded like they came from dollar tree. I got a whole year out of my last pair. My first pair only lasted 3 months. I often wear them when doing projects at home, mowing, or riding my motorcycle. They absolutely protect your hearing when you wear properly. I can't say I recommend the for riding a motorcycle. The length of the Bud gets pushed to the side under the helmet and can be uncomfortable but they do cut down on the noise significantly.
4.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as gen 1 but still good
Bought these to replace the original plugfones because those broke on me after 4 years. The new model works well but not as well as the old ones. -These ones don't quite match the color of our earplugs at work (3M yellow and blue) the old ones were spot on -It seems like these aren't as loud as the old ones although they are still plenty loud for factory work. I find myself having to turn them down to have a conversation however, I still hear Hilo traffic fine. -These work with the tips from the old style which is good if you have leftover tips. -Noise muffling is on par with normal earplugs even with the music off. -it seems like these ones aren't as sturdy however they haven't broke yet. Will update of these last shorter than 4 years.
4.0 out of 5 stars Worth Every Penny
I bought these since I work in a factory with loud machinery and I got tired of hearing the same noises for 12-hours straight. No complaints when it comes to quality, just don't pull them out of your ears by the cord, you'll probably damage them. The length of the cord is perfect. I'm able to run it under my clothes to my pockets with plenty of cable left. The sound quality is actually fantastic. I was surprised how clear the tones are and the bass is insane for these little things. The tips can easily be removed for cleaning. The only reason I gave it 4/5 stars is because I was hoping it would block out more noise. The earplugs they give us at work are rated the same as these, yet these do not block out as much noise so that is odd. It is enough for what I do, just wish it was a little better when it comes to noise reduction. I highly recommend this product. I've already talked a few guys at work into ordering a pair.
4.0 out of 5 stars Nice wireless upgrade to the original wired Plugfones
These headphones are very much like the wired version of plugfones. I always loved my plugfones because I have a small ear canal and the soft foam earplug style headphones are the only earbuds I can wear comfortably. These fit identical. Sound quality is a little bit better then the wired set. Battery life is very good and got me through a 12 hour flight. The review states "noise canceling", but they are really "noise isolating" and do it as well as any foam earplugs. When watching videos, Bluetooth latency is present but fairly small. Maybe around 150 milliseconds. Not ideal, but you can get used to it. Still, I would very likely break out my wired plugfones if watching a movie. No idea how battery life will hold out in the long term, but as with any lithium battery powered device, charging should only be done when necessary to maximize lifespan. UPDATE: I dropped my rating to 4 star due to an annoying feature. When the battery gets low, it will interrupt your audio and announce the battery is low, put it on a charger. I would be fine with that except this announcement occurs once per minute with a low battery. If the mfg is paying attention to these reviews, please change this to be a single announcement per power cycle with a final warning before shutdown, but no other.
5.0 out of 5 stars great for motorcycle
I have been using disposable earplugs and wanted to listen to music on my motorcycle. These cancel the engine and wind noise better than my old earplugs. Between songs, it's strangely silent. With music playing, all I hear is the music and it's like I'm floating down the road. Literally no other noise can be heard. I think it's excellent, and I really love these! I think you have to make sure you're using your eyes and being attentive, because you really won't hear anything with them on. **UPDATE** After 3 days, one of the plugs stopped working. I still use it as an earplug and only get music from the one working plug. The one that works it still going after a month of daily use. I got a different motorcycle, an sv1000 with dual yoshi exhaust, it's much louder and these don't block it out but they help. **NOTE** I also learned that it is illegal to be driving with these in your ears in my state. All forms of headphones are illegal while driving. So I've been enjoying the fact that one of the plugs is broken, so that I can still hear what's happening in one ear. It's probably safer, but still just as illegal.
4.0 out of 5 stars A good buy if this is what you're looking for
One complaint is the same one I have with all these motorcycle related speakers and phones, ilthey are so high pitched. This one was pretty good, though. I thought it sounded pretty average everywhere, as opposed to mostly high pitch. The plugs themselves are bigger than I would prefer, and can bother me after a while, especially in my shoei rf 1200. All in all, I'd say excellent for the price point!
4.0 out of 5 stars Great for riding motorcycle
I just wish it came with more foam tips because they get dirty quickly
5.0 out of 5 stars I didn’t expect much, what a satisfying surprise...
I work at a machine shop, I’m historically rough with inexpensive things like these headphones or buds or whatever you want to call them AND I rarely write reviews. These stupid little ear plug fakers are GREAT! Despite the tiny gauge wire which I constantly tug on, they have yet to spark out on me even once! Look, for the price, get a set, can’t beat it!
5.0 out of 5 stars The sound is amazing!!
Bought these headphone because I work construction. The noise at work causes headaches and non stop ringing. Heard about them on Facebook and thought I’d try them out. Wow was I blown away. Great sound and comfortable.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great
Great! Only thing I wish is that it didn’t have a cord. Where I worked you weren’t aloud to wear headphone but you could wear earplugs. So I bought these earplugs 🤫👀. The cord and the volume control just got in the way even when I wasn’t trying to hide them. Just hope the company would just the ear pieces. Would buy again
5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT!! but get the insurance...
Have been using these for YEARS at work ever since I found out about them. They are better hearing protection than the ones my company provides! (the foam tips are better; silicone tips are the same/slightly less than my work ones, but still very safe) Sound is quality. Not going to get amazing bass, but they have a good enough 'bump' to them, and are very clear to hear. Durability is quality (for me at least) I use them 8-12hrs, 6-7days a week in a warehouse environment and they have held up just fine for me. (but I am also sorta ocd about keeping my equipment in good condition, so your experience may vary) Battery lasts right around 12hrs on a full charge. Battery life also determines on what you're using them for; If you use them to talk on the phone for a long period of time, the battery drains faster than if you just use them to listen to music/etc. But the plus is they are fairly quick charging. If I know the battery isn't full and I have to work a 12hr unexpectedly, I can throw them on the charger for 10mins or so and they will last the rest of my shift just fine. I know it probably goes against everything you've ever been told when buying electronics, but I recommend getting the Asurion insurance it offers when you purchase them. I've been using these for years, 6-7days a week for the past 5 or so years, and every pair I've bought only lasted right around a year, year and a half before something internally went wrong with them. Whether it be one of the earpieces stops working, or the microphone stops working, its always something right around the same time after purchase. But the Asurion insurance makes it very easy to make a claim, turn them in, get reimbursed and buy a new pair. basically you're getting your next pair for only 8bucks with the insurance. Not a bad deal for a bit of a failsafe. Hopefully your pair wont, but just in case.
5.0 out of 5 stars Plug Phones are the bomb!
The only thing I did not like, is the battery is heavier then the control side. It doesn’t hang even around my neck.
4.0 out of 5 stars Batter life is awesome. Tough little headphones
I use these for work everyday and they go through a lot of abuse and have held up fine. The only thing about them that is a draw back for music is they have 0 bass. I guess that’s the trade off for such a small speaker. Still sounds pretty good just no bass. I listen to podcasts all day at work so it isn’t a big deal. Battery life is around 10-15 hours depending on how loud and how often I pause. The pause button or Bluetooth connecting or something has gone funky on me. I have to hit the button 3 times on the unit or twice on my phone to get it to play after pausing. Not a deal breaker just annoying, didn’t start out this way. Would still 10/10 recommend to anyone interested!!
4.0 out of 5 stars Great at noice reduction, Sounds quality is okay
Great for noise cancellation. Purchased for when I mow the lawn and works well. Not so impressed by the sound quality though. At this price range, I expected better quality.
I ride a motorcycle with very loud exhaust, these plugphones 2.0 works great, noise level is down, and i can hear the music with clarity.
5.0 out of 5 stars Solid Product
These are great. I use them while mowing. They successfully block/lessen the noise of the mower and allow me to listen to my music at a lower, more comfortable volume. The foam and the silicone tips are very comfortable. The pairing process is easy and the controls are easy to use as well. I also find the molded neck piece is very comfortable. It keeps the wire out of the way and in place. Thanks for making a great product, truly worth the money.
4.0 out of 5 stars If noise protection is what you seek, these will do it.
I work in an extremely noisy environment for much of my week and am a constant wearer of normal yellow ear plugs. These work just as well and give me the added benefit of allowing me to have a bit of music to help cover my tinnitus. An added plus is they don't function as a phone headset so I don't have to try to talk to anyone over the din of motors and fans. I hope they're durable because I'm a believer. The sound quality isn't the greatest but the sound protection is pretty solid.
Product looks exactly like the photo. I would give it 5 stars, if not for the battery life. The battery only lasts about 8 hours. I work a 12 hour shift and can't charge them. So they don't fully fulfill their purpose since I can use them for part of my shift.
I originally gave this product A ONE STAR RATING but a week later found a way to make these work very well so I changed it to a FOUR STAR RATING. Neither of the Plugfones ear plugs that comes with this product worked for me. So if neither of them works for you then read on! MOTORCYCLE APPLICATION WITH FULL FACE HELMET (extremely high noise environment) The Plugfones comes with two types of ear plugs: 1) Tapered foam, and 2) Ribbed silicone THE PLUGFONES TAPERED FOAM EAR PLUGS: The foam plugs ought to be the ones to use in order to provide the highest level of noise reduction. However, the foam inserts simply do not fit into my ear canal far enough to provide a "good" level of noise reduction (like traditional foam ear plugs do). They are simply too large to fit into my ear canal properly. There are many reviews here agreeing with this so I know I am not alone. The foam plugs are simply too large (when the plastic speaker inserts are inserted) to fit properly into the ear canal and thus the product is a no-go for me. THE PLUGFONES RIBBED SILICONE EAR PLUGS: Using the silicone ribbed ear plugs I can get them to fit into my ear canals more deeply but the overall noise reduction level of this product is completely INSUFFICIENT to provide proper protection for my ears. I went out and rode for 20 minutes with them and the noise levels are simply too high and I believe it would result in permanent hearing loss if I used them long-term and thus the product is a no-go for me. HOW I MADE THIS PRODUCT WORK FOR ME: I have always used the standard yellow 3M tapered foam ear plugs and they fit into my ear canal very well and gives so much noise reduction I can barely hear someone talking that is standing right next to me. I can barely hear them talking - but I cannot understand anything they are saying. Very good protection. And I was able to find a way to modify them to work! 🙂 HOW TO MODIFY 3M TAPERED FOAM EAR PLUGS (SEE ATTACHED PHOTO): I drilled out my ear plugs so the Plugfone base part will easily insert into my ear 3M tapered foam plugs and they work beautifully! However, you CAN'T drill the foam ear plugs at room temperature! You have to freeze them before you can successfully drill them out. I used a 7/64" drill bit and drilled about 1/2" deep into the 3M foam ear plug. See photos.
After my Etymotic ER6i's finally died (after ~10 years) I tried several other models before finding these. I really like them. The can is short which makes it easy to get a good and comfortable fit, even when wearing a motorcycle helmet (my primary use case for these). Not only are the comfortable, but they also block out a good amount of noise. Sound quality is better than I expected. I'm a bit of an audiophile, and am hence somewhat picky. These are more than acceptable in terms of sound quality, bordering on good even, and have respectable, but not overpowering, bass response. Vocals are clear. My one gripe is that I have not yet found any markings to show which is left or right. It doesn't matter a whole lot given my specific use case for these, but still - having a clear marking would be nice.
5.0 out of 5 stars Sanity Equalizer!
Sanity Restored! I have got to say that these have made work a bit more tolerable. I work in a factory with forklifts and very noisy machines. If I keep the volume at a medium level I can still hear the horns and backup beeps. To hear conversation on the floor I just take one out without fear that a co-worker will discover music coming from my "earplugs". If a background soundtrack is what your looking for, these are perfect. Just don't be jamming to the music and forget to be safe. So far I have used them 5 days a week for 8 hours a day and they are still in perfect working order after 4 weeks. I am not overly cautious with them but do try to remove by the plugs, not the wire. Very satisfied and feel these earbuds are worth the money.
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice
They work really well they are loud so you don't have to turn your music or what ever you listen too I like them very much
5.0 out of 5 stars Bought them for concerts and I am not disappointed.
I am able to get up close at concerts. I can still hear the bands while protecting my hearing. They are easy to take in and out.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfectly Basic
FINALLY- Simple, foam, noise-blocking earbuds! Fits nicely in my narrow ears, the sound is clear. These are just your basic listening earbuds - perfect for listening to music while moving - the foam really blocks outside sounds and keeps the buds in place. I had an expensive set of foam noise blocking ear buds...wore those out after 5 great years and tried to find new ones...manufacturer stopped making the kind I like. 🙂 I have been searching for over two years, my desk is littered with 'not right' options I have been purchasing with high-hopes. Now I have these, and they are perfect!
5.0 out of 5 stars Good quality for less cost
They fit properly with changeable ear pieces, and being they look & wear like regular ear plugs at work.Awesome
4.0 out of 5 stars Buenos
Los compre para usar con ruido marron para poder dormir, tengo unos vecinos insoportables que ponen música a todo volumen esto me esta ayudando mucho
5.0 out of 5 stars WOWWWWWWW
So I’ve been rocking the blue and orange ones of these but the corded ones for years and they’re Amazing . I even have them plugged into a Bluetooth receiver at work so I can pause and play from my pocket💁🏼♂️. Needed something with no wire and these are a little bulky but they do have the clip and they also have two battery things that you can let rock on each shoulder . How’s for the sound quality …. I have AirPods and j have nice over the ear headphones and these compete for sure … AirPods have no bass and way to much treble and these are the opposite , you can hear all that bass and hear all the treble beautifully . Now for how long they last we will see…. But the corded version of these for 20$ last me years
4.0 out of 5 stars Protects Your Ears While Having Tunes
I bought these specifically for the in-line media controller as an upgrade for my last set of Plugfones. They keep your ears from hurting after riding the lawnmower for a few hours, yet you can still listen to your music at a reasonable volume. (Standard in-ear headphones you'd need to have the music loud enough to damage hearing to muffle out the exhaust noise.) My only complaint would be the placement of the buttons. They are close to the plug end of the wire rather than up near the microphone like other headsets I've had. Also, I believe the buttons should be spaced out a bit for my application. Trying to use them while wearing gloves, you'll bump an adjacent button more than once. There's a minus (volume down), a plus (volume up), and a circle. The circle, press once for play/pause. Press twice in succession for next track. Press three times in succession to repeat current track. (Or three times, and then immediately again three times to go to previous track.) Trying to double-tap for next song while bouncing down the lawn, I usually nudge volume up or down at least once.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for the Riding Mower and Weed Eater.
These are perfect for yard work. Totally block out the motor noise and stay in your ears comfortably. The sound is pretty good but does distort at higher volumes but they stay put all day. All the other Bluetooth earbuds I have tried are frustrating because I have to stop and put them back in my ear or, they don't block the ambient noise. They are a little pricey but the battery will last all day. They will also drowned out the annoying coworker that won't stop talking.
4.0 out of 5 stars Motorcycle Riders
These are great for riding motorcycles only down side is that the ear plugs might not fit you well if you have lil ears, would be cool if they was a lil louder but they are clear when you ride and stay in place I only used them three times so far will do an update if they break or anything in the near future but if you been look for good sound quality while riding this have been the best solution so far and trust me I spent thousands to find the perfect solution and other down side you might get a full 6 hours of listening time so get two pair if you ride far, the quality could also be better more rugged
4.0 out of 5 stars Sound good, had to replace my first pair.
They look just like regular earplugs and actually sound really good. However my first pair broke within only a few weeks. However I contacted the company and they sent me a replacement no questions asked. My current pair is going strong. Would recommend, but be aware it's possible they may not last you very long. But again, they were replaced without issue.
5.0 out of 5 stars Life changing for travel
I’ve never been able to watch movies or listen to music on the airplane since I have to have ear plugs in for pressure. These save my ears while allowing me to enjoy music and movies!
5.0 out of 5 stars 5 stars!
Great sound quality and superb hearing protection. Its just like having earplugs in, and then you can have music or podcasts on while you work.
These are my go to ear protection alternative for work. They resemble actual ear protection PPE close enough that I have never been noticed wearing them. They are comfortable, which I didn't even think would be an issue until I tried another brand and they were too large. The sound is good enough. the bass response is there, so music sounds good. I've been using this brand for going on 2 years and the one issue I have is that they tend to fail within 3 to 6 months. The wire connection at the plug fails, and the split in the wire to left and right fails (EDIT: my latest pair, one of the wires pulled out a bit from the ear bud). I have learned to be as careful as possible with these points and the sets do seem to be lasting longer. This is a relatively minor issue, given the cost and the fact that I can enjoy music or whatever at work with this product, whereas without it, I cannot.
For years, I’ve struggled with finding headphones that actually work inside of my full-face motorcycle helmet ... until now. These are without question the only headphones that allow you to hear your music on a bike without having to be so loud that you’re most likely damaging your hearing. Be careful though that you don’t get in the habit of having the volume too loud. Don’t adjust it based on feel. Set a maximum number of bars on your volume setting and don’t go above it. I recommend adjusting the volume before your ride. As these headphones go into the ear, they can also be dangerous to your hearing. I would say that I wear these on my bike sans music as often as with. They still provide much needed decibel reduction from damaging wind roar, and if I get a critical notification on my phone for work, I know to pull over and deal with it. In addition, these are the only headphones I’ve been able to wear while running. Every other pair I’ve ever had fall out after about 50 feet. The only thing is that it is a little weird to lock out the surrounding noise while you run. It can make you feel a bit like you’re under water. Your foot falls and breathing can get a little loud inside your head, if you know what I mean. But they are still the best exercise headphones I’ve ever had. I will say that I have a couple of caveats, hence the 4 stars and not five. First, they are still fairly cheap headphones. My first pair were the executive style and I loved them. But my arm caught the cord once while jogging and pulled the wires right out of the 3.5 mm jack. I’ve read other reviewers say the same thing happened to them. He next pair I tried I found at a local hardware store and they were the orange and blue construction variety. These were completely different quality than the executive. On this pair, every vibration of the cord was sent directly into my ear drum. I hated them and ripped them to pieces in anger in the middle of a run. ? But then I bought another pair of the executive type and all is well again. So, I am $60 in on these cheap earbuds at this point. But obviously the second pair is my own fault. Stick with the executive style and I think you’ll be pleased. Ultimately, these are a niche little product and probably not for everyone. If you care about protecting your hearing though, and you’re comfortable putting earplugs in, these just might be the best headphones you’ve ever owned. Okay, one final thing I’ll say and warning, this is a little gross. But these headphones keep my ears from getting excessive ear wax buildup. Which means, at first, you’re probably going to see a lot of it come out on your ear buds. But over time this gets better and weirdly, using the earbuds is now how I keep my ears clean. So, be prepared for that. I warned you it was going to be gross.
4.0 out of 5 stars bought because my company banned headphones and cell phones on the floor.
Ok Ill start by saying I read reviews of these and was leary but purchased anyway and so far one week in and 8 hrs a day they have been pretty good. The sound suppression as far a hearing protection works for what I need however in a very loud environment the silicone plugs wont cut it, Im sure the foamies will work better but there are not replacements for them and foamies are not cleanable. As for the sound quality, Certain songs come through a little tinny but what do you expect from a tiny speaker, sound quality depends on getting them to the right depth in your ear. Battery life has been great 8 hr shift no charging. You cant pause play on an mp3 player but volume adjust works. The range actually surprises me at times. Now to the important part the battery and controls hide under your shirt collar so far no one has questioned that they are ear plugs and I get to keep listening to my music so the night goes by faster. All in all Id definitely buy them again. I use these with a sandisk sport mp3 player that has bluetooth.
4.0 out of 5 stars The sound quality isn’t very good for the money but they are what I was ...
The sound quality isn’t very good for the money but they are what I was looking for. I used them last night at work for around 6 hours and there is still over half battery life left and nobody even noticed I was listening to music.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for motorcycle helmets
Only plugs I've found that I can wear inside my motorcycle helmet without hurting my ears or spending hundreds for custom plugs.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fits narrow ear canals
I have small ear canals, which makes finding anything to cancel noise or for music hard! These earplugs are fantastic. They block loud sounds so they’re perfect for the range. They actually fit in my narrow ear canals with no issues. There is a bigger size for those with normal ear canals as well. The quality is very durable, made strong and feels like it will last long term. The pouch case is also very well made. 5 stars
4.0 out of 5 stars Very nice
I have used wired Plugphones for years and really like the sound for the compact fit. I use them inside a motorcycle helmet. The plugs reduce the ambient sound so well that I typically play music at the lowest volume. I got these wireless ones for use in the yard. Tested them out and sound is as good as the wired ones. The battery and controls parts that are attached via the cord are noticeable when compared to wires only. I did notice some interference from the electric leaf blower I was using. It is a pretty powerful blower with variable speed. I would think these would work great for any outdoor work. I will experiment with how I locate the cord around my neck to see about minimizing any interference.
4.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the Pro or Old Models
I use Plugfones for motorcycling and have for at least 5 years. After going through about a set a year of the original Plugfones I finally burned through my supply. I loved the sound quality and fitment on those, but the cords would always pull out from the driver or lose insulation at the Y making at least one not work (and I think causing random button presses on my Packtalk as well). Of course this would always happen in the middle of a long trip, but they were so good it didn't matter. The silicone tips on those were great, and though the driver was a bit big it never interfered with anything. It appears the old version may now be called the "guardian" model and have an increased price. Considering the wind noise and other distractions on a motorcycle I figured sound quality was not as important so I picked up this set this time. As soon as I put them in I could tell there was almost no low-end and very little low-mids. There was a ton of digital noise / high pitched static. It is fairly easy to see that the drivers in these are significantly smaller than the older / other model. Still, I figured it would be OK on the motorcycle at speed. I was wrong. They are OK for communication, but the sound is so tinny that to hear it appropriately sometimes you need to turn it up to the point that it is shrill and painful. They suffice, but not very well in the SQ department. As far as fitment - after just ~5 rides in them they now can cause some irritation and itching in my ear. I'll try to clean them more regularly to see if that helps but that is a ton more maintenance and it does not appear as easy to clean this model since you can't remove the tip. I like that with the smaller driver and higher flexibility there is almost no way for them to interfere with my helmet, but after those ~5 rides I'm finding it is quite hard to get them to insert properly (yes, even when I pull my earlobe down and do a proper insert). Part of this seems to be that there's just not really anything good to push on to get them to seat since the whole unit is so flexible. Overall these are passable and certainly better than helmet speakers sitting outside of earplugs (other than the difficulty getting my helmet on - which applies to all plugfones), but I wish I'd spent extra to get the better version. I see that version has yellow tips now, so I hope they haven't changed from the silicone I knew and loved to a foam similar to this set. All things considered I think a few cents of production upgrades could improve this product significantly, but I wonder if it has been corporatized and / or manufacturing shipped overseas to the lowest bidder. I hope quality improves a bit next time I need to buy.
5.0 out of 5 stars Highly Recommend
I bought a pair of these back in 2016 or 2017 and loved them. I drive a forklift in a factory and the little paper that comes with them rate them for 26 Decibels. OSHA fined my company for a noise violation in 2018 and we were required to build sound proof (resistant) walls around certain machinary to knock the noise pollution down and we were required to were earbuds AND ear muffs as well until the walls were produced. I only ever wore these headphones and I couldn't ear much of anything. They for sure work well. The audio quality that comes through is clear and great quality. As far as the durability goes, I get them caught on the forklift straps and controls fairly often and get them ripped out of my ears and I just ordered a second pair of these a few days ago. They last for ever. Mine finally gave out after a little over 3 years right around where you plug it into the phone jack. More than likely where I sit on that portion of the wire and rub it constantly where im getting on and off the truck during 12 hour shifts. I 100% recommend these for anyone who wants a set of noise cancelling headphones. No need to buy $300 head phones to cancel out noise when these work amazing.
5.0 out of 5 stars I Use While Riding Motorcycle
Excellent noise cancellation you expect from earplugs and I really like the sound quality. They stay in your ear and even with highway speed winds they do not budge. I use them while riding my loud ass harley. The cancellation and speakers work so well together I can't really hear the engine which is what I use to know when to shift, which is a good thing. That was what was going to make me deaf. They aren't Beats but Beats aren't practical for what I use them for. I recommend.
4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect incognito headphones for work
If you want incognito headphones these are for you. Everyone had no idea whatsoever that these were headphones. They look exactly like regular earplugs down to the size of the cable. They are definitely worth $20 to be able to listen to music at work when it's not allowed. Be aware thought you can't have too much quality and go incognito, so don't get mad off you snag them and they break. Take care of them they will last a long time.
5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT headphones for riders
Up until now, I've been using regular earbud type headphones to listen to music while I ride. I figured that they were fine for blocking out a lot of the wind/road noise from riding. After using these Plugfones, I realized how wrong I was. It's almost a night and day difference with these. They block out a LOT of the wind and road noise that the earplugs I've used previously just did not. I've noticed that I don't need to crank up the volume as loud to hear my music now either. They fit really well and are very comfortable. These are my dedicated headphones for riding when I want to listen to music or get GPS through my phone. The only drawback on these is that there is no microphone or inline volume controls. That's not a big deal really, as long as you expect it. Highly recommend these for riders. For the record, my combo is: '16 XSR900 with full exhaust and HJC RPHA 11 Pro helmet
5.0 out of 5 stars Excelente compra!!
4.0 out of 5 stars Good buy, but not going to last forever
Use them at work, they look just like and work like regular earplug. They actually block sound better than the ones my factory provides. This is the second pair I bought the first pair one ear went out after 4-5 months, but I think they are worth the money to not have silence.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for under motorcycle helmets.
The perfect headset for motorcycling. Fits great under the helmet. I can operate the controls with gloves on.The sound is better than most other in ear headsets. Noise cancelling is more than adequate, and comes with spare plugs, and has different types to buy separately that completely blocks out ambient noise. There is a corded version for those who don't want to spend the bluetooth money, and they are the best bang for the buck.
5.0 out of 5 stars Would purchase again 100%
Purchased off of Amazon, sound quality better then my Corsair headset for my PC. Comfy fit, alot of noise reduction for just the standard ear buds, and good Bluetooth distance.
4.0 out of 5 stars I really enjoy these, and I think you will too.
I'm on my second pair of these, and I wanted to wait to see how they held up to write a review. I love these headphones. I am a proffesional woodworker, and spend my day surrounded by noisy equipment, these things block virtually everything out, even annoying coworkers at the right volume(just kidding guys, but they do work that well!). The first pair, the wire eventually pulled out after almost 4 months of use. Which isn't bad considering the amount of use they got. With the second pair, the first thing I did was put a tiny drop of CA glue where the wire meets the case, and this at least seems to help, in fact it works so well, that the wire insulation is now pulling off the wires, but the phones still work. I will caution the new user to take it easy when removing these phones, and do not yank on the wires, or you will be sorely disappointed with the results. I also use them when riding my motorcycle. I will caution you all, however that they work well enough to require you to be hyper alert on the road. They will block out traffic. I will buy more of these, and probably even gift them to friends an coworkers. Excellent product.
4.0 out of 5 stars Theyre decent.
I enjoy that it comes with different ear pieces, and that the noise cancelation and sound work great. Only downside to them for me is the battery life is only 6-7 hours, and the microphone I always get complaints about when talking to people.
As plain-old earbuds, these rock. Having started to develop tinnitus, I've started being extremely cautious with my hearing and these allow me to listen to my music and hear the sound very clearly at even the absolute lowest volume. They do a really good job at blocking out mild to moderate noise; however, I hate to say that these did not meet my expectations for louder noises. My work involves me riding around on an old mower for hours on end. I suspect there's something wrong with the muffler, because it is incredibly loud. Before purchasing this product, I would simultaneously wear both foam earplugs (rated at 30 NRR) and an old pair of earmuffs (current NRR unknown) to reduce the noise to a comfortable level. I expected the foam plugfones (rated here at 29 NRR) to perform comparably underneath my earmuffs, but they did not block out nearly as much noise as I expected them to. Fortunately, they still work really well at taking the edge off of some of the quieter, but still obnoxious tools, such as the hammer drill, vacuum, or orbital sander. Furthermore, as I previously stated, they're still a really great pair of earbuds in quiet environments where ambient noise might block out some music at extremely low volumes. My only measurable complaint with this product is that the jack is "loose" in my music player. It's not physically noticeable, but I'll be listening to my music and all of a sudden I'll only have sound in one ear. Giving the jack a twist or a bit of a wiggle alleviates the issue and so far I've only noticed it happening once every listening session (usually between 3-6 hours). I have no regrets with this purchase, but if I were to make it again, I would probably see if I could have better luck with a different, similarly-priced product.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excelente sonido
Me parece que el sonido es excelente y el precio no es tan caro para la buena calidad que son
5.0 out of 5 stars Great fit!!!
Out of all the ear phones I have purchased in the past. These are by far the best ones because I can insert them in my ears and don't have to worrying about them falling out like other brands I have worn. I have small ears and narrow outer canal which makes it difficult for ear buds to accommodate the wear. The sound quality is astonishing. I wore them during my workout on the treadmill this morning and they allowed me to stay focused and finish my one hour cardio session without any discomfort. I most definitely will purchase these again in the future.
We have a farm and feedlot operation. My husband needed hearing protection and earbuds. These were literally half the price that the local store wanted but the exact brand and quality. He wears these in the shop to listen to talk radio and while grinding hay. The battery has a long life and so far they have held up to all the dirt and abuse he gives them.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfectly discreet
These headphones are great, the sound quality is great, it blocks out most noise but still allows you to hear things around you and the battery life is from 8.5-9 hrs. They are discreet in design as they resemble safety ear plugs. I have tried many different Bluetooth headphones and these I highly recommend. Make sure to use the included clip because they will tend to pull down if you don't.
5.0 out of 5 stars I should have bought more
I purchased these for my son. I will be purchasing more. They are OSHA approved earplugs that allow you to still hear your phone calls. This is very convenient when you always have to be available by phone.
4.0 out of 5 stars Earplug headphones
Love that they work well at my job. Only thing I don’t like about them is they catch on things. So have to tuck under shirt.
4.0 out of 5 stars 3.75/5
Don’t understand why the button is so close to the aux, and also the foam plugs get dirty super quickly, other than that they work great!
5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Worth The Money
I had reservations about spending the money on earphones. Conveniently, they arrived a few days before the blizzard that just hit the Northeast. They worked great while I was using my snowblower and I was able to actually hear my music over the machine which was a nice change of pace from my current buds. The sound quality is outstanding in my opinion. Final note; I always have had a hard time with ear buds staying in my ear. My left ear, for whatever reason, the bud has always fallen out. Not with these which alone is worth the price. Absolutely would purchase again!
This is a good set of earphones for working in areas where earplugs are required. I wear mine at my desk and pair it with my phone. When I am in the production areas, no phone, I already have these available foe hearing protection.
5.0 out of 5 stars My boyfriend loves these
I purchased these back in January for my boyfriend. He works in a industrial plant with a lot of very loud machines. He needed some earplugs that he could pair with his iPhone. So I got these and he absolutely loves them!! I told him I was doing a review and he said “ give them 10 stars all the way around” lmao! He lost them last night and had to work today without them. He said it’s the worst day ever at work cause he doesn’t have his ear plugs and can’t listen to his audiobooks while he works. So here I am On here now to order him another pair!
5.0 out of 5 stars Best hearing protection bar none
I've been using these for a Solid 5 years now.. it's the only hearing protection you should have in your ears
5.0 out of 5 stars These are GREAT headphones!
First things first, of course when you are working and using these on a very regular basis, they will wear out and they will start to break. I dont know why people expect $16 ear buds to last forever even after daily use and being used in work environments. Chances are that if you need ear plugs, you are working in a place that requires physical labor or using machinery and alot of things can happen. I work in a production plant and I bought these headphones to blend in at work and so far, speaking face to face with my supervisor and also the plant manager with these in and music playing, they were both oblivious to their true purpose. I also bought these since they were the cheapest option and i wanted to see if the bluetooth pair would be an investment that id like to take. So far, that answer is yes. These headphones sound great, and with them being 50% “earplugs”, i can use these at low volumes while being able to hear the music clearly with minimal background noise. The materials used for these headphones are nice and silky soft rubber which are super comfortable and can be worn for hours without becoming uncomfortable or irritating. They also come with foam tips, but i havent used them because i feel like they would get dirty very quickly. I use these with the Apekx bluetooth adapter which is also very convenient and sleek, but thats for a different review. These headphones do not have a microphone or volume controller on them, but you get what you pay for. These are basic headphones without any bells and whistles but they are also made of great materials with great sound quality and they do a great job of drowning out the background noise. They come with a convenient carrying case which is good for prolonging the lifespan of these headphones. These were a great purchase and i will be buying the bluetooth pair.
5.0 out of 5 stars No one knows I'm listening to audio while working
I work in a plastic factory during 12 hour shifts or not allowed to listen to to music. I used to get by by day dreaming all night but I can't do that all the time. So listening to music Podcast or audio books helps pass the time.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for church musicians and worship leaders!
I bought these to use as a musician in a worship setting. The church uses click track systems and in-ear monitors, and I wear a battery pack that I plug earbuds into. I wondered if there was such a thing as earbuds with hearing protection, and I officially found them here! I am glad to be protecting my ears in an already loud setting, where I can listen to the click track at a safe volume while still being able to hear the rest of the team and keep my hearing along the way. Thank you Plugfones!
5.0 out of 5 stars Works great, sounds good
Works great, sounds good... Only thing I can complain about is that one set of the two sets of ear plugs were a yellow set when I ordered Orange.... But I have other plugfones to replace them, so it's no big deal for me...
If so then these are for you. I have actually had to tape mine in at times. These however come with two different interchangeable silicone plugs. I have been using the "christmas tree" one as it stays put and seals out distracting outside sounds better then Apple-type ear buds which on me, just hang there. One word of caution, since they can occlude your ear canal, the pressures generated by high volumes have no place to vent so your ear drum can take a beating. This actually happened to me over the years playing electronic drums though very tight occlusive head phones so just be careful! Solid product.
4.0 out of 5 stars The experience of true happiness, and the disappointment to follow.
Absolutely fabulous. This product, with it's discrete, earplug-like appearance, has assisted me in maintaining my sanity at the overwhelming, laborious, monotonous factory job.-In which I unfortunately spend anywhere from 50-70 hours each week, often going without a day off for many fortnights. Thanks to this product, I am now able to stimulate my brain with important information via 'NPR' podcasts, fill my heart with laughter from the greatest comedians, and most importantly, fuel my soul with the power of music. As for the product itself, I am happy to report that the quality of the headphones has been beyond satisfactory. I have had this product for roughly 6 weeks, and have inadvertently ripped the auxiliary from my phone in the roughest of fashions many a time without compromising the wires/causing a short. As a musician I have been through headphones quicker than underpants, and these have outlived every set of earbuds. My only complaint is that the foam plugs collect dirt quicker than a colony of ants devour a gumdrop. This almost destroyed me. The bright yellow plastic piece on the inside, flush against the dirt encrusted foam, could have easily blown my plug disguise in an instant if someone had paid remote attention to my ears. Thank goodness no one did such a thing! Once I returned to my humble abode, I removed such foam plugs immediately! Thus replacing them with its rubber plug counterpart. The rubber plug has not a single blemish of grime after nearly one month of daily usage....BBBUUUUTTTTT...The sound quality has deteriorated immensely! In attempts to fit them into my ears as properly as possible, I noticed a bit of pain resonating from my ear drum. Seems as though they cause my ears to become more sensitive, while canceling out much less noise than its foam associate. The quality of the bass has been cut in half-if not more, which makes it difficult for me to truly enjoy my music without the full sound experience I am entitled to receive. Sometimes they make my ears sweat too, causing severe discomfort. I think the plug covers should be sold separately.
4.0 out of 5 stars They work well as intended
Got these for work, music sounds like trash thru these but audiobooks and podcasts sound great. That's what I wanted them for anyway. They last about 10 hours before they need to be charged. I work in a very loud environment and these do actually reduce the noise very well. I recommend these but just realize if music is your reason they will severely disappoint you, but voice like audible and podcasts sound great.
5.0 out of 5 stars <3 I love these. So far I've had these and use ...
<3 I love these. So far I've had these and use them consecutively for the last six weeks. I cannot openly wear them with the wire hanging out because of the environment I work in, so I tuck them under my clothing while connected to my device in my back pocket. Since I do tuck the wire and I move around a lot, there's a lot of tugging most of the time on the jack which was very problematic with the old model of Plugfones but the sound is still crisp and clear, no signs of damage (yet, anyway). The foam plugs do get dirty pretty easily but other than that I'm very satisfied with the product.
4.0 out of 5 stars Very discreet!
These things are awesome. The running joke in the shop is, don't tell anyone about them so no one finds out they aren't, "ear plugs." Pro's Discreet, we have these blue/yellow ear plugs at work. And it's pretty noisy usually. They are instantly disregarded as normal earplugs. They reduce outside noise level Con's The foam plugs that come with them are a bit too big and get dirty easy The sound is "ok" The cord is a bit short for having to run the wire all the way to my phone in my pocket. If I turn too far with my neck they usually pull out of my ear. Go ahead and get silicone replacement plugs. It's just a matter of time before the foam ones get dirty.
4.0 out of 5 stars Decent for factory work, and company will make it right if they stop working in a decent time frame.
First pair we bought was great until they stopped working (washed them multiple times in pockets). The identical pair we bought to replace them worked for exactly 30 days, no rough handling of the headphones or anything. On day 31, one earbud stopped working. 30 day return window. Edited to add: company made it right, and is sending a replacement under their warranty window.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great o for listening on the low-low
Have had these for about 2 years since my job has been cracking down on listening to music or podcast while at work. They have decent audio and are well made. The only 2 criticisms I have are that the little black bulge that acts as the microphone is to bulky. Wish it were more incognito, also the wire that is directly connected to the jack is very sensitive. I solved this by wrapping it up with a few stops of duct tape about 1 inch long to make it sturdier so it won break like my intial pair
Haven't had the chance to use them in the work environment yet. But I have tested them at home. There not good enough sound quality for music. But they are great for audio books. They fit nicely. You just gotta be careful with pulling them out.Seeing that they kinda fold. Sound does leak out if turned up to loud. But I'm sure if there's a lot of noise around that won't be a problem. Unless someone is ear to ear. I like them and can't wait to use them on the working area. Because you know standing there checking parts for faults is boring.
5.0 out of 5 stars Item is exactly as described and it is performing flawlessly
I purchased these to serve as dual purpose . I use them to help cancel noise at work as I am a diesel technician by trade and the environments I work on can be extremely noisy and I also use these at the gym . At work they do a really good job at lowering the surrounding noise and it allows me to continually learn as I prefer to listen to training and financial podcasts . They really shine for me at the gym as I can just about drowned out the music that is blaring in the facility . These provide an excellent range of volume and the battery life is better than any other previous pair I have owned ( 4th different ones I've tried ) . Overall I am very happy with this purchase !
5.0 out of 5 stars Great work remedy... MUST Read This!
Updated... I work in cold temps so I bought a Bluetooth device like TaoTronics Bluetooth AUX Adapter. sewed all in a cap and Bluetooth from a Samsung s5 256gb sd card 20000 songs. Phone ebay $50, and the rest @ $20 inexpensive for a great pc, High powered mp3 player you get from this setup. I don't use this as a phone except Wi-Fi app. Great setup. OLD review follows now- I love these. I did have a problem with the connector shorting out. My fault technically because I move around a lot. But cable build quality is not good. Only if they could make a nylon sheath around cable, this would be the product. Good bass and plugs are comfortable.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great idea for motorcycling, significant drawbacks
Finding these were a game changer for motorcycling. I ride daily and need ear protection, but like music as well. I got the original basic version 3 years ago and wear them every day. However, there are some significant issues that leave me searching for a better option: - first of all, with the silicone tips, these sound like absolute garbage, and barely block out any noise. Then, with the spiral foam tips, they are kind of better. When they shine, though, is with the OG, FULL SIZE foam tips that for some stupid reason Plugfones stopped making. Maybe I have wide ear canals, but these are literally the ONLY tips that make these headphones work. Absolute trash without them. PLEASE BRING THESE TIPS BACK. I got a replacement 5 pack a couple years ago and have been carefully working my way though them (the deteriorate after a year). Once they are worn out, I will literally just throw these headphones away - they are the only thing that makes them work well. - Second, they do break after awhile. I treat mine well, but after <1, each of my 3 pairs has stopped working. Not a huge deal, I buy another set since it's worth it to me - third, and this has become a huge issue: the volume adjuster has a mind of its own. It will frequently randomly turn my volume all the way up, or down. Ive had this happen on different phones, and with iphone dongles. THis is not from accidentally pressing the volume buttons. It's something internal causing this. I will have to buy another set of the basic version to avoid this, my current pair has become unusable now. That being said, when these things have the better foam, and aren't acting up, or breaking.. they are the best purchase I've ever made for my motorcycle gear. Makes riding infinitely more enjoyable.
I use these when I'm mowing, weed-eating, trimming hedges, etc. I hate the noise from the them, so I like to listen to music while doing yard work. A lot of other earbuds won't stay in my ears, particularly if I've been sweating a good bit. These stay put and help greatly to dull the noise of the machines I'm using. Very happy with them!
4.0 out of 5 stars Hearing protection and function
They wear the same as your typical yellow rubber ear plugs. The charge will get you through a 10 hour shift at work. So it comes with a clip put it on and clip it to your shirt between the battery and the controls. You can listen to a book or music just fine in a loud environment, however phone calls is harder for who you are talking to hear you in loud areas because of the mike does cancel out the background
5.0 out of 5 stars READ BEFORE BUYING/RETURNING
I almost gave this product one star, until I figured out how they work… there are no instructions that come with this product. You might be saying, “why do you need instructions for earplugs?“. This is why… When you open the box, it has the cord which goes around your neck, and the 2 sets of ear plugs are separate and come in little plastic bags. There are two types, one is for full protection, and one is for partial protection. If you want to know which ones do what, just look at picture on the cover of the box. Easy enough… Now for the warning… I own a tree removal company and I am around very loud noises all day, so I bought these because I liked the idea of the attached cord to secure the earplugs so I could easily take them in and out without having to screw around with holding them or putting them in my pocket all the time when not in use. So I bought these specifically for the full protection set since I am around pretty extreme amounts of noise. When I went to put the plugs into the cord they were slipping in and out so easily that they were completely ineffective, and offered almost no sound protection. So as I was putting them back in the box to return them, I decided to try out the partial protection earplugs to see if those worked better. They did, and this is why…. What they don’t tell you, since they don’t provide instructions, is that there is another piece besides the plugs and the cord which secures the plugs to the cord and offers most of the sound protection. When you open the box, this piece has been pre-installed into the partial protection plugs, but not the full protection plugs. Once I figure this out and pulled the partial protection plugs off of this piece and installed the full protection plugs, they worked great. I love them. That being said, all of this could’ve been solved with a simple paper insert explaining this. Since the plugs are so good, I don’t want to give them anything less than five stars, so that’s why I am writing instructions on their behalf… I hope they read this review and start putting instructions in the box, otherwise they are going to get about half of their products returned if people happen to try the full protection plugs first. Perhaps they just forgot to put the instructions in my box, and that’s certainly possible, but just in case they all come like this, I hope this review helps.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect fit!!!
This item is exactly what I was expecting!! I can jam or listen to podcast all through my shift confident that no one will bother me about headphones
4.0 out of 5 stars Great Headphones
So far used these headphones for a few days and they sound clear with a nice bass. Soft earplugs do not bother my ear, like some other headphones I had in the past. Great product...
5.0 out of 5 stars I love these
I got these for wearing under my motorcycle helmet. I love them. Putting the helmet on or taking it off doesn't move the plugs at all. Even though the NRR is rated at 26db, to my ears it seems like my 23db NRR earmuffs. The plugfones cut out a good chunk of wind noise, but I can just still hear my motorcycle's engine and things going on around me. I was pleasantly surprised. The only thing is that I wish I had spent the money and got the bluetooth ones instead.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good sound. Not very durable.
The sound quality is good considering the cost of these. I tend to snag these a lot so they'd short out at the connect point. Could be a little more durable. These are very comfortable to wear. I use them at work for an average of 6-8hrs a day. Also nice that a additional set of replacement ear buds come with the package.
4.0 out of 5 stars Low volume work fun !
I notice the volume is a bit low for these but works just fine. Looks exactly like my earplugs for work !
4.0 out of 5 stars Lack of instructions keep a very good product from 5 stars.
I work in the music business and I'm back to going to concerts. Although pre-Covid I had very good custom made in ears, after 2 years of not going to shows, they went from where they were kept for years to "missing" and I don't want to spend $200 plus for a new pair, as I know the day I order the new ones is the day I will find the old ones. As I have started to go to see live music in the past few months, I've tried a variety of inexpensive earplugs, from the very inexpensive foam plugs to the better ones like these and even some with attenuators. Once I figured out the part I needed to properly use the full noise reduction was attached to the partial noise reduction, these worked VERY well for me. They are comfortable to wear, easy to put in and out and the cord makes them great for live shows where I tend to take plugs out when a band is playing so I can speak with people. The noise reduction is very good. Ultimately, these are a good value for the price, but the lack of ANY instructions or guidance is problematic.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Motorcycle use and have proven durable (Quality has improved)
I purchased my first pair over a year ago. I'd read reviews that they were not durable but figured for under $30.00 if they lasted a few months of riding they'd be worth it. I'm VERY hard on earbuds, generally going through 4 or 5 pairs a year (generally fail due to the wiring breaking at the bud or at the plug end). I bough theses specifically for motorcycle riding. They allow me to listen to music or audiobooks at moderate volume levels (compared to regular earbuds that need to be at high volume to be heard over the wind). They work fantastically at that role, and for the last year I wore them every time I rode (even if I wasn't listening to anything) for their ear protection properties. Even better, they appear to have overcome their QC issues because my first pair of plugfones lasted the entire year (18,000 miles on the bike). A couple weeks ago one side stopped working and I immediately ordered a new pair (figuring I'd finally broken them). It turns out that what happened is that the foam had degraded and parts of it were stuck in the speaker opening. I cleaned it out and now they're working again... so I just ordered foam replacement - and will have 2 pair of plugfones. I recommend this product for both quality and performance without reservation.
5.0 out of 5 stars They work for what they need to do but how well they keep noise out? Im not sure??
Not sure how well they keep sound out but anything is better than nothing thats for sure. I think they are going to do the job to cut down on a lot of loud noise especially any that would hurt your hearing and you can listen to some nice music too.
4.0 out of 5 stars Look just like earplugs!
Looks just like earplugs. They have good sound. I work in a factory and they are perfect for on job earplugs/buds.
I use the plugphones for my Raceceiver at the dirt track. These are very comfortable in my ear and provide me enough hearing protection to hear our race information, and the cars around me which is important. I broke my first pair getting out of the car at my own fault, not the product. I believe the audio could be better but I'm still a repeat customer.
Great earplugs, I have had these for about a year now. I bought these to hear music while riding my motorcycle, and they work fantastic for that. I can mow the grass and have the volume at 75% and not hear the mower at all. *About a week ago I forgot them in my sweatshirt pocket, which went through the washer and dryer. I untangled them, and plugged them in expecting them to be ruined. Nope! They still work perfectly! Summary: Best noise cancelling earphones I have ever used, solid bass, good sound quality. Never had to have the volume above 75%, plenty loud for me. Would buy again!
5.0 out of 5 stars OSHA compliant hearing protection with Bluetooth times two
I enjoy going to concerts and music festivals once in a while. The first time I went to a festival in Germany, I brought my army issued ear protection just in case. I’m glad I did. Every performance is different at a festival. Some bands have things set up all crazy where you’re in a cramped space with giant bass speakers that drown out the entire song and ruin the experience. Not only does it sound bad but it hurts the ears too. This was a band I really enjoyed on Spotify but hearing them live I thought I’d get hearing damage, even with basic cheapo ear protection. I got Plugfones because I’m getting back into live music now that restrictions are going away. Plugfones are actual earplug earphones, which is what you want when it comes to hearing protection. OSHA compliance and an NRR 22 safety rating give me the confidence that my hearing will be safe in those cramped venues where even if you’re in the back your hearing isn’t safe. And if there’s ever a band I’m crazy about playing and it’s all bass drowning out the melody, now I can sync up that same song on Bluetooth and enjoy watching the band upfront and live.
5.0 out of 5 stars Definelty worth buying
I bought my first pair of these months ago and I have been using them on my job daily. 7 days a week and any where from 8 - 12 hours a day. I work in a foundry its dirty and extremely hot so far they have worked flawlessly. I even where them around the house some days before and after work. I'm fairly rough on them. I want you to know how much I wear my ear buds. a typical pair of 20 $ walmart skullcandys ONLY LAST ME 30 DAYS. Like clock work those skullcandys go bad that's how much I use them. The plugphones are still working from my first set. They could be a little louder and the sound quality is good but not like a high end pair of earbuds. For audiobooks or pod cast they work great. I highly recomend them if like me u work in an enviroment where if you have fun your fired or your lazy and are going to be fired then use these. I have spoken to my supervisor to area supers and the plant president and not one had the slightest clue I was listen to head phone lol its great. They were so happy with my boss thinking it was him who got me to start wearing ear plugs instead of ear buds. Lol they are well worth every penny
5.0 out of 5 stars Plugfones are a Manual Laborer's Cheat Code
it worked about 4 months without a problem. 12 hour work shifts, in my ears all night. Its definitely worth the $20.00. When you see everyone looking depressed but you can smile and enjoy an audiobook during grueling repetitive work it makes you very thankful for these "plugfones". Anticipate the wiring to eventually work themselves out if you're doing manual work and occasionally get the wires caught on things and yanking... probably not safe letting the wires dangle, better to tuck them in your shirt if using heavy machinery. But I'm buying more and will continue. Might strip the sleeve and solder the wiring back... anyways... great investment... listen to audiobooks at work 🙂 get smarter while doing dummy work.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good until they’re gone
My dad and I each buy a pair of these about every 8 months or so. They tend to either start distorting the sound or stop working in one ear after a while. They still work great and are comfortable, which is why we continue to buy. The noise cancelling works so well that one of my friends at college made it a point to sneak up on me in as many creative ways as possible while I was listening to music.
4.0 out of 5 stars Love them
Works great. Everyone at work thinks they are just plain ear plugs, so on sites where head phones aren’t allowed they come in handy. Only complaint is that the colors and battery/controls is a bit long and falls to one side or the other. I have to tie them to my hard hat adjustment knob.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great product
Good little look-alikes! Used these at my workplace to inconspicuously listen to music. I would use these and run the cord down my shirt to a Bluetooth dongle with a clip that I could clip to my pants. I wear longer shirts to make sure the dongle is covered as I work. Used these for several years, only a really close co-worker has found out when they went to mess with my earplugs. My main complaint is that they’re kind of hard to grip by the base when they’re in my ears. It makes me want to pull them out by the cord, which broke my first set. They made my ears a bit sore using them at first, but I got used to them. Went through 6-8 pairs using them 9 hours a day/5 days a week for about 4 years. Pretty good product overall.
4.0 out of 5 stars life/work changing, but I have one BIG issue
I love these ear plug headphones. However, this is my third pair in a year and a half. I wear them everyday so I get a lot of use, but paying $30 roughly every 6 months is getting old. These earplugs allow me to listen to audiobooks, music, and even TV at work. With amazon prime you can download shows directly to your phone so you can watch them offline later. I have watched HOURS and HOURS of TV with these earplugs. Well mostly listen, but some watching. I bought a Bluetooth receiver and run the plugfone wires down my back inside my shirt with it plugged into my Bluetooth receiver and the receiver in my back pocket so everything is hidden from everyone else. I am an aircraft sheet metal mechanic( I repair airplanes). I actually work harder because I am not goofing off somewhere else and I can work while I listen and glance over at the phone. That's what I enjoy about them but there are some issues I have with them as well. The earplug portion of the plugs are fairly decent at blocking the sound but they are not quite as good as real earplugs. Since the plastic speaker goes deep into the foam, as it must, it makes it difficult to push deep into your ear. My biggest problem with them though would be that I am having to buy new ones every 6 months because one side will short out and quit working or worse start working intermediately. That's a lot of money on earplugs! Like I said though I wear them a lot, 5 days a week, 8 hours or more a day. You have to decide if it is worth it for you. Other than that they sound great and are plenty loud for my shop which can get very loud!
5.0 out of 5 stars These are great. Easy to sleep in and I can listen to music to go to sleep.
These are the best ear phones and also pretty great as ear plugs. Many earbuds don't stay in my ears and they're hard and uncomfortable. These are the only ones that really work for me. I can sleep in them too. It's important to clean them with alcohol after using.
5.0 out of 5 stars No idea how people cant get these to last a while.
Ok Ive had my pair for almost a year (You purchased this item on April 20, 2018.), still work no damage and Im not gentle with them, I work with heat and welding metal all day long. My only disapproval is is the battery life which states 12, at first it did last up to 15 but over the past years its continuously dropped to around a little less then 8. Also there is this weird noise thats like a cd skipping that happens randomly the only way to clear it is to turn them off and turn them back on and reconnect, on one occasion it wouldnt shut off I have to plug it in to get it to reset but tricking it my charging it for 5 second then start then back up, thats happened once so far. I still have the original ear plugs it came with they have seen better days but over all I use then everyday up to 8 hrs a day and 5 days a week. I cant complain cause they have worked well for me. I keep seeing reviews about they break after a month or even a week, what the hell are you people doing with them? Using them as a rope to swing across caverns. My single complaint is the battery life, and being that its been almost a year Im sure its no longer covered under any warranty
5.0 out of 5 stars they stay in when you put your helmet on.
I was concerned that my very tight helmet would rip these out when I put it on. No worries. They stay in, they do a good job of playing music while I ride. I don't need to crank the volume up while riding. What I can comfortably hear while standing still works fine while moving on the bike. The helmet actually smashes them more into your ears, so they become slightly louder when worn under your helmet.
I give this product a 4 star, it would be a five, but due to the fact that the plugphone cannot use the big foam earplugs as well due to the fact that there is a speaker, I would love to see if someone in this world can engineer a "Squish able" speaker to put into a plugfone. I originally bought this because I ride a loud bike and I like to go fast, i have a 2004 suzuki GSXR 600, Yes I'm a gixxer lover, but anyways, I conducted several tests on this product before I came to this review, I based them on: Sound (music), Noise cancelation, and comforbility. The music I think in my opinion was just like any headphone out there, good but not amazing to say if you were to spend the money on something that produces bass. Don't get me wrong, I had my bike doing over 100 MPH, and the music sounded great, best part is, I had it turned up 3/4 way because that's all it needed. I've used headphones in the past and they all slid out of my ears under my helmet while riding so I would loose the music, but plugphone stayed in no matter how hard I rode, and the music was even good with my visor up, lots of wind blowing into my helmet and I still only heard a faint sound of my exhaust and the music. Which brings me to the noise cancelation, for this test I had my music turned off to allow it to be Just a regular ear plug. And to my surprise, it worked better then some of the ear plugs I have, at the 100mph test i was able to hear my surroundings and my exhaust perfectly fine but it wasn't loud enough to wear it would be like not wearing any pertection. Which brings me to the last part, comforbility. Most general headphones would come out, any other fellow riders know what I'm talking about, not only did the plugfone stay in, when I went to remove my helmet (Full faced helmet) I do as I always do even when putting it on, I grab the straps, extend them outward to allow more room for my ears. And to my surprise THEY STAYED IN, I was astonished by that, after having them in for 20 minutes, my ears did start to hurt, but that's due to the fact that I pushed them in as far as I could to get best results. But overall, I would recommend this product to other motorcycle riders, the product is fragile just like any other headphone out there, but the thing is the guys and or gals down at plugfone nailed this . 4/5 stars from this greatful customer.
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing for misophonia/hypericusis | Plugfones Sovereign Duo Bluetooth Earplugs
Bizarrely miserable auditory conditions like misophonia and hypericusis are unfortunately very real, and I'm not talking about being annoyed by someone loudly chomping their food with a clicking jaw. For most people, being annoyed by that sound is basically just being human. I'm talking about the kind of life where one is developing instant nausea when the sound of a blow dryer at a certain Hz level turns on, or getting a migraine headache when cymbals play over a phone speaker. Large portions of my life have been defined by highly-specific sound sensitivity that caused a physical response and recently when I decided to take a year-long extension class with hundreds of people, I put myself in a situation where I was suffering on a daily basis. Before long I had triggered an episode of full-blown hypericusis which was miserable on a level I didn't know existed. Every sound I heard was irritating and the very act of anticipating it began to give me uncontrollable anxiety, which made my hearing worse, and it was a vicious cycle for months. I tried everything including other brands of "noise cancelling" headphones but they really didn't seem to do the trick. I took a leave of absence from the class but am due back in a few weeks, and I was extremely worried about the situation until I tried these headphones. The difference in noise dampening is amazing. So much less sound competition and background chaos. The human cacophony is quieted and I feel like I can actually focus on what I need to do. The buds also charge easily and quickly, but the best part is that you get two pairs!! Now I never have to suffer through a room full of reels/videos/tiktoks/snapchats/stories (seriously it is SO excessive and rude, particularly when it's multiple people or at a high volume, and especially with some of the content that exists). No more avoiding the long echoing halls with clacking high heels or symphony of ringing phones in the waiting areas at work. Loud noises don't have to be my enemy if I don't have to hear all of it so aggressively. As of now I'm a huge fan of this product and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Once the class starts again, I'll be sure to see how these are when they're being used constantly all day every day, and I will be updating this review if the performance suffers.
5.0 out of 5 stars Not the best but still great at work.
The battery life is good and the cable is long enough to put under the safety helmet. Performance may be differ from which khind of music you listen. For me I love rock and this thing did a pretty amazing job. Only downside is when not listening to music you mught hear some outside noise than normal safety earplug.
4.0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny
These are nice. They're not made any better than a normal pair of headphones. Where I work these are no issue. Not very discreet, they have a black Mic Box (dumb). The foam tips didnt work at all. You really gotta work them in, might hurt a little but it's worth it.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great value
I really like these headphones. I use them for mowing the lawn, tractor work and some shop work. They keep the outside noise to an appropriate level. Connected easily to my iPhone. Sound quality isn’t what you’d get out of higher end headphones, but out works for audiobooks and music that I listen to. Battery life is ok, outlast a tank of of the mower on 5 acres, and it’s easy to keen charged.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great product, but....
The plugfones have an excellent sound quality. The only issue I have is that I wish the range was a little further.
5.0 out of 5 stars MUST BUY !!
I work in a warehouse and I have to wear safety earplugs. There work perfectly for listening to music Or audio books and podcasts wile bring low key. I even had a full conversation with my supervisor and he didn’t notice .. that’s the best part
4.0 out of 5 stars Left ear bud don’t work !
Left ear bud don’t work ! First pair I bought work great for the 5 months I had them ! 2nd pair trash 🙄
5.0 out of 5 stars Great sound quality
Great sound quality as well as battery life it’s true you really get 12 hrs of music play time I use them all the time at work only thing I wish it didn’t have so many bulky boxes on the cord and that the cord was a little shorter
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice idea
I’m not sure if I am just to hard on these but the sound on the one side is like a whisper. Plugs are hard to keep in. I just ordered the plugfone that is one step better. Hopefully they will last longer.
5.0 out of 5 stars Worked Well
This product did as advertised. Works well to subside heavy noises and allow for easy music listening. Used during my time working construction.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great earplugs/earbuds
I like most that these earbuds are OSHA approved and ANSI certified because I can wear them at work and hear my music safely. They’re comfortable and durable. Two complaints- 1) the volume controls are at the phone end of the wires instead of closer to the user (small issue) and 2) there are only one set each of both types of ear plugs. They get dirty quick and it seems there should be multiples provided for replacement when they get too dirty. Other than those two small issues, these are great quality.
I bought these for my husband. He is a welder & spends his entire day under his helment, & I read an article about welders suffering from severe depression due to having no interaction with other people. So I decided he needed some earbuds so he could listen to his audio bible, music,etc..... He said they are great & make his day so much better! Also they are OHSA approved so he doesn't get in trouble. He said the overall quality is great!! Would definitely recommend!
4.0 out of 5 stars Good headphones for the price
I bought these for work so I can listen to music while packing. The look just like the ear plugs we have at work so no one has noticed anything. I believe they are good value for the price. The music isn't the best compared to other earphones, but it does the job and its discrete.
4.0 out of 5 stars Just mids and highs no bass (3.5/5)
As a earbud they are cheap and obviously sound quality was not their main focus. But they are convincing for earplugs and feel much better than the typical earplugs they mimic, they “feel” like they give the same amount of noise isolation. They are great for what they are trying to be but man do i wish they had a little more on the lowend.
Loves these very comfortable and discrete. Working in a factory around loud presses being able to listen to music and still have approved headlines makes the day go much faster
4.0 out of 5 stars Durable and comfy!
Love these! They are durable and looks just like my earplugs in my factory. The major thing is the sound quality isn't to bad, music sounds great through them and they cancel noise out from your environment! I keep it on low so I can enjoy music and still listen to my team members.
5.0 out of 5 stars I use it in the Amazon warehouse.
The best $50 ever spent. Works well to use at Amazon. Discreet as can be. Had direct encounters with managers and they didn’t say crap. Get the orange ones for most discreet.
5.0 out of 5 stars A godsent!
Have to wear earplugs for work but cant have ear buds because they do not block the sounds earplugs do. But these bridge that gap! And even though they are osha approved, the color is perfect for safety to think they are regular earplugs so you dont have to worry about proving they approved or anything
4.0 out of 5 stars Love them
These served me well over the years but I have upgraded to the Bluetooth ones. The customer service at plugfone is amazing too.
5.0 out of 5 stars Your boss will never know!
Well they won’t as long as you arnt like me and dance around and sing lol. These are great BUT they will wear out eventually. Slide them down your back and wear a shirt that covers your pockets. Cord is long enough to go down your back and into a front pocket. I am not advising you wear these while operating or around heavy machinery or where it is unsafe to not be able to hear your surroundings.
5.0 out of 5 stars You're paying for the camouflage... And my boss is a fascist.
Where I work my boss has banned me from using headphones, completely ignoring the fact that they actually HELP me focus and work more efficiently. These have been a lifesaver. They seem to trick the fascist fool and have withstood the harsh environment that I work in. I even accidentally sent them through the wash and they still work. For the same money you can probably get better sound quality out of a normal pair, so you're definitely paying for the camouflage. They fit more comfortably than normal earplugs, too.
